Head start Director


We are currently seeking a Head Start Director  for our Head Start and Early Head Start program.

This position is responsible for coordinating all components (Health Services, Transportation, Family Services, Education, and Mental Health) of Head Start including the overall administration, operation, management, supervision, and leadership of the program including eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance of prenatal families and children birth to five.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Personnel Management, Early Childhood Education, or related field plus five to eight years relevant work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Strong Fiscal Management experience and Early Childhood Education experience preferred.

Lead Teacher


We are currently seeking  Lead Teachers for our Head Start program.

The Lead Teacher plans and implements weekly and ongoing educational developmentally appropriate lesson plans for a group of children ages three to five with individualized considerations for each child in a classroom setting. Additionally, this position acts as a resource, advisor, and advocate for the parents in the areas of child development, health, education, and community resources.

Requirements: Early Childhood Associate Degree, Early Childhood B.A./B.S. or a 4-year degree with 6 courses on Early Childhood Education/Development or equivalent credentials.

We are currently seeking Teacher Aides and Teacher Assistants for our Head Start program.

Bus drivers


We are currently seeking Bus Drivers for our Head Start program.

Bus Drivers are responsible for safely transporting children to and from school, health screenings, and field trips. SCCAP will provide training necessary to an individual to obtain the CDL driver’s license with a Passenger and School Bus endorsement. 

Requirements: Be able to obtain a CDL driver’s license with a Passenger and School Bus endorsement. Must have a safe driving record for the past three years. Must be a minimum of 21 years old.

FAMILY ADVOCATE

We are currently seeking a Family Advocate for our Head Start program.

The Family Advocate assists with recruitment, intakes, enrollment, health follow-ups, attendance, and advocacy with our families in the Head Start program. This position works with all team members composed to help meet the needs of our families regarding education, transportation, parent involvement, energy assistance, housing, family development and health services.

Requirements:  Training in Education, Sociology, Social Work or related field plus one to two years relevant work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience in Head Start, and bilingual preferred.
