BENEFITS INFORMATION:

Hours of Operation: Varies by department, location and position.

Pay Schedule: Employees are paid every two (2) weeks on a Friday (unless a Holiday precedes the payday). We also offer direct deposit to all of our employees at no charge to them.

Insurance: South Central Community Action Program prides itself on offering a wide range of insurance options to its employees. Employees averaging a minimum of 30 hours per week worked are eligible to participate in the organizations health and dental insurance plans. Employees become eligible for insurance the first month following their first 60 days of employment. Insurance options include:

South Central Community Action Program, Inc. pays over 75% of the individual’s health insurance premium from SIHO, and pays over 80% of the individual’s Dental & Vision insurance from Guardian.

Personal Business (PBD) and Vacation Days (VD): All employees will start accruing Personal Business and Vacation days from their first day of employment. Personal Business and Vacation days are calculated at a rate of .05 per hours worked.  Example: 75 Hours (worked that pay period) X .05 = 3.75 PBD Hours and 3.75 VD Hours for that pay period.

Holidays: All employees receive the following 15 paid holidays per year: New Years Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Mini Spring Break (Thursday and Friday of MCCSC Spring Break Week), Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Day after Christmas (December 26), and New Years Eve, plus one floating holiday.

Orientation Period: All employees are subject to a 90-day orientation period. Any personal Business Days (PBD) and Vacation Days (VD) that are accumulated during the orientation period cannot be taken until the employee successfully completes the orientation period.

Criminal History: All new employees are required to have a criminal history check. The agency will submit and pay for the criminal check.

Sex Offender Registry: All new employees are required to have a sex offender registry check.

Child Protective Services: All employees in the Head Start and Early Head Start programs are required to have a child protective services check at time of employment and annually there after.

TB Test: Pre-employment and annual TB test and/or screening are required for all employees in the Head Start and Early Head Start program at the agency’s expense.

Drug Testing: Pre-employment drug testing required at the agency’s expense. Tests will be performed at IU Health Occupational Services on West 3rd Street in Bloomington.

Physical Exam: Pre-employment physical exam required for all employees working in the Head Start and Early Head Start program. This is at the employee’s expense. Employees  working in the Transportation Department will require additional physical exams based on Department of Transportation regulations. The additional physicals will be at the employee’s expense.

CPR & First Aide: All new employees are required to have CPR & First Aide training. Anyone not already certified can complete training at the Lindbergh Main Center at the agency’s expense.
